We have meetings on the second Thursday of every month.  Our group meets at the Johnson County Community College Regnier Center. Our normal room is room #236 but check the visual displays when you arrive to confirm.

In an ongoing attempt to make the content presented useful to our members we start each meeting with a short Q&A session.  Unless noted in the meeting notes the schedule for each meeting will be:

6:00 - 6:30 - General Q&A session & Announcements

7:30 - ?? - Door prizes and Question & Answer session

Once you arrive the Regnier center is the red brick building next to the large white building. Parking is available under the center as well as on three sides. Once inside please check the room displays as the college frequently changes our room assignment.

Neil Watkins is the manager of database administration for Epiq Systems Inc. He has over 10 years experience working with SQL Server technologies and is the current president of the Kansas City SQL Server Users Group.

This presentation is designed to show you how you can leverage VS2005 DB Pro to take control of your database development. This includes: Developing without a database, data generation, source control integration, design time validation, static code analysis, and ERD integration.


Damien Bowersock from EqualLogic will talk on SAN technologies and issues related to using a SAN with SQL server.

 Controlling and Reusing Query Plans with Kalen Delaney

Thanks for our friends at ClearData Kalen Delaney is presenting this full-day seminar on March 26th, 2008 and will cover techniques available for determining if, when and how you should override the optimizer's choice of query plans. It will also cover how to determine if your plans are being reused, how you can determine if reuse is desirable for your queries, and how you can control query caching behavior.

Although the demonstrations will be run on SQL Server 2005, much of the information presented will relevant to SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2008 as well.
